I’ve just been treated to a tour of a modern manufacturing plant near Irvine in Scotland. The plant, which produces liquid media for the biotech industry, recently benefitted from some significant upgrading, and its owner, US chemical company SAFC, is keen to show it off. Here, in no particular order, are the things that crossed my mind as I wandered the corridors and gawped at the shiny steel pipes and containers. (more…)
